The Body of Christ

The church is made up of all believers in Jesus Christ.  The church was given the name of "the Body of Christ" as He is the Head.  1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:12.

During my cancer fight many people in the Body of Christ came around me and prayed, comforted, brought food, visited, took care of my kids, etc. etc.  Many of these were thank you gifts for those that surrounded me.  I still have a few more to paint and will add those when I complete them.  However, I am not going to share who they went to but I will share the location of the picture and in time, a couple of the stories that went along with them.

This painting was taken from several pictures I found on the internet.  I was asked by husband's boss to paint something for the Relay for Life event in Findlay, OH, that could be auctioned off.  After completion of the painting his boss told me that she changed her mind and asked permission to hang it in the new Cancer Center Blanchard Valley was building in Findlay.  I agreed, so hopefully one day I can update this and say I saw it there... of course being there only for a check up and not for treatment.

The title to this painting is CURE-AGEOUS as it was to depict my interpretation of my journey.  The team that was walking called themselves this so I gave it the same name as I leaned very heavily on the book of Joshua during my fight for the cure.  Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

The water representing the Living Water; Jesus Christ running right along the path I had to walk.  The path was made smooth and you are looking at it seeing that He brought me through the mountains and the valleys and all the rocky places in between.  I give God all glory for the strength and protection I endured as He brought me through!
Picture
This painting was a combination of rustic door pictures I found on the internet. I was looking for something to depict Revelation 3:20. Yes, I know there is no door knob... It represents Jesus knocking at the door of your heart and you opening your heart for Him to come in.
This was painted from a photo taken at Rock House in Hocking Hills from a special trip we shared together with our friends.
Taken from a picture of a stream behind the house of my daughter's friend in Parksburg, PA.
This is from a special place on Lake Norman, North Carolina that our family shared with our extended family.
This particular painting still needed some work but as I was having my stem cell transplant there was another couple going through the same thing. Our spouses kept visiting each other and praying for each of us. I gave this to them as a remembrance of our time there together. I actually painted this during my stay at OSU before and after the transplant. Years later I found out that this man had passed away due to his fight with lymphoma.
A special person had a stroke during this time so I tried to paint her favorite flowers for her. They are supposed to resemble Knock Out Roses.
From a photo a friend asked me to paint from her trip to Ketchikan, Alaska. It was a trail they walked between the totem pole carving shop to the traditional Clan House.
This place is Hawk Falls, Pocono Mountains, PA. A beautiful place my daughter went for a college adventure.
From a photo that a friend gave me to paint from her trip to Portland headlight at Cape Elizabeth, Portland, Maine.
This was taken from a picture off the internet... no specific place, I just thought it was pretty.
This painting was created from a picture that was taken by a friend that traveled to Yosemite National Park with her family.
This was painted from a picture our friends took on their Caribbean cruise... This is Costa Maya, Mexico
This was painted from a picture off the internet of the Myan Ruins.
